England, 1959. a free-spirited widow risks everything to open a bookshop in a seaside English village. Her bookshop brings about a surprising cultural awakening through the works of Ray Bradbury and Vladimir Nabokov. And she a earns the polite but ruthless opposition of a local grand dame along with the support and affection of a reclusive book loving widower. Emily Mortimer, Patricia Clarkson and Bill Nighy star in this wonderful adaptation of the beloved novel by Penelope Fitzgerald.(113 min)
