JOANNA
Program I
Director: Aneta Kopacz
Synopsis: Joanna is a film that follows the last few days of a woman that has been battling cancer for some time. But Joanna is not a film about death or dying, but a film about gleaning out the best in one’s day despite illness. The unique thing about Joanna is the subtle vision of the director. There is no narration to tell the viewer how to feel or what to experience. And this approach, which punctuates the things not said becomes a very powerful experience for the viewer. (Poland; 40 min)

this disease stop breathing during sleep and require lifetime mechanical ventilation on a ventilator. The film shows the first few months of living together after the diagnosis. At the beginning, the child is still in hospital, but soon he comes home, with all his medical equipment. The film shows the process of taming the fear by the parents and gradually adopting to the new situation. (Poland; 27 min)
