All Children Smile in the Same Language
“Devoted to the kind of fare that may be found at the Academy Awards but not at the local multiplex. It gives young audiences more to digest than popcorn.” – New York Times
Founded in 1997, The NY Children’s International Film Festival is dedicated to creating a more compelling film experience for children and teenagers and it’s coming to Bloomington on Dec 2 and 3.
The Festival offers short films from around the world for the young as well as the young at heart. Some films are animated, some are live-action. There are two programs – one recommended for children 3-7 and a second for ages 8-80. Along with films from the U.S., this year’s Festival includes short films from France, Germany, Italy, Russia, Japan, Spain, Hungary and the Netherlands. So get ready to set sail on an incredible journey. Befriend a monster. Uncover a mystery. Visit a foreign country — or a foreign planet. The Ryder invites you and your kiddos and your imaginations to explore new frontiers through the best new films from around the world. No passport required.
