2020 Oscar Short Film Festival

February 2

Single Tickets and Festival Passes (Special Pricing, See Below)     Where Are Films Shown?     Where Can I Park for free on Campus?

The Oscar Shorts offer a vision of what the Academy Awards should and could be but very rarely are: eclectic, cosmopolitan, scrappy and surprising.
-A.O. Scott, The New York Times

We will once again showcase the 10 Oscar nominees for Best Short Animation and Live Action Film at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater.

Here’s a chance to see the films that critics are raving about and predict the Oscar-winners before the Academy Awards on February 9th. And don’t forget to vote – ask for a ballot when you enter the theater. If you pick one of the eventual Oscar winners, you’ll win a complimentary ticket to another film and you might also win Dinner for Two at at one of our fine local restaurants.

Hollywood movies are often impersonal and risk-free — creative decisions are made by lawyers and accountants. The Oscar Shorts are a celebration of intimate, personal storytelling. Each filmmaker leaves his or her fingerprints on the material.

If you cannot attend on Feb 2nd at the BCT, you’ll have lots of other opportunities we will also be screening the Oscar Shorts on campus and at Bear’s Place between Jan 31st and Feb 16th

Tickets: Individual Programs: $10    Oscar Festival Pass $15*

*Your Oscar Festival Pass includes admission to all four programs: Animation, Live-Action, and both Documentary Programs. If you purchase your pass at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater Box Office, you can use it anywhere (at Bear’s Place and on campus). It won’t say that on the pass, but you can.

If you purchase your pass at Bear’s Place, however, or at one of our campus screenings, you cannot use it at the Buskirk-Chumley Theater. In other words, you can only see a film at the BCT if your purchase your ticket at the BCT Box office.
